This inca settlement was named Tambo Colorado thanks to the red paint which cover it’s adobe walls. We can see it’s Wari (Ayacucho) and Ica (Cusco) influences. It’s Quechua name is PukaLlaqta (red town) , we will be able to see the ceremonial plazas, houses and ceremonial platforms, and the main building know as La Fortaleza.
Tambo Colorado is served by roads connecting the Andes with the coast and from the southern valleys to the northern valleys. Some archaeologists and historians point out that Tambo Colorado was an administrative / ceremonial and military place to control the valley of Pisco also this place was to service as resting place for the Inca and his army across the Inca territory
