Driving through downtown Coquimbo, port to visit the most incredible and attractive places like the Cross monument of the third millennium (religious monument located in Mount El Vigia, being built with the motive of the jubilee of the year 2000 of the Catholic Church). After a nice views here we will visit The main square of La Serena (In the colonial period, this square was an open-air market and a traditional walk of the city. In the center of the square stands a large fountain sculpted in stone by the national prize of art Samuel Román ) and the Monumental Lighthouse, built between 1950 and 1951 by the request of President Gabriel González Videla within the so-called Plan Serena. In 1953 this structure was delivered to Mayor Juan Cortéz Alcayata of the Illustrious Municipality of La Serena, later his lighting system was eliminated, remaining in letters and publications as reference.
We will finish with a nice shopping at La Recova Market where you can enjoy of the typical souvenirs like pottery, papaya products, semi-precious stones and alpaca wool handicrafts.
